High school students learn about prenups with Dr Levmore

Yeshivat Orot Yehudah, a Bnei Akiva yeshiva high school in Efrat, invited Dr. Rachel Levmore, director of the IYIM Agunah &Get-Refusal Prevention Project, to speak on International Women’s Day. Speaking to the entire student body via Zoom, Dr. Levmore engaged them in a Talmudic discussion based on sources, bringing them to understand the untenable situation in which women can find themselves as victims of get-refusal. From that point it was a natural segue to present the prenuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect as a halakhic preventative solution. In this manner the young men found the signing of a prenuptial agreement to be an important, acceptable action to take prior to marriage, as part of their social group – long before entering into a relationship.
