Integrating prenups in chattan classes

The director of the IYIM Agunah & Get-Refusal Prevention Project, Dr. Rachel Levmore, delivered a presentation for a course of English speaking male Chatan-teachers, madrichei chatanim. The topic “The prenuptial Agreement for Mutual Respect” was thoroughly covered, from the problem of get-refusal, through the working of the agreement, to the method of presentation to young couples at the height of romance. It is a breakthrough to have trained specifically male madrichei chatanim, (as opposed to the female madrichot kallot) as they are role models for the young men who come to learn from them about marriage – thus bringing the young men to sign the agreement.
