Thank you Dr. Levmore!

The director of the IYIM Project for the Prevention of Agunot and Get-Refusal, Dr. Rachel Levmore, received a personal phone call from Rabbi Pinchas Goldshmidt, Chief Rabbi of Moscow and President of the Conference of European Rabbis, thanking Dr. Levmore for two actions: For assisting in the legislation of the “Diaspora Agunot Law” back in 2018 and for authoring the article “Saviors of Diaspora Agunot” published by the Jerusalem Post on Sept.10, 2020. The information included in the article provides crucial information for Diaspora Jewish communities and Rabbinical Courts the world-over regarding the new law, which empowers the Israeli State Rabbinical Courts to secure a get, for agunot who neither they nor their husbands are Israeli citizens. Representing the Rabbis of Europe, Rabbi Goldshmidt expressed his gratitude to Dr. Levmore for her work in resolving agunah cases in the Diaspora.
