Rabbi Professor Broyde Captivates Hi-Tech Employees in Jerusalem

IYIM’s Agunah and Get-Refusal Prevention Project held an event in cooperation with Synamedia in Jerusalem –a lecture delivered by Rabbi Prof. Michael Broyde. Rabbi Broyde is in a unique position in being able to speak about “Sept 11th Aftermath – Freeing Agunot from Within Catastrophe”. Participants were spellbound as Rabbi Broyde elaborated on the principals within Jewish Law as to determining the death of a man, thus releasing his wife from an agunah status and to remarry, and to its application following the disappearance of husbands in the Twin Towers. Told with deep sensitivity, Rabbi Broyde described the tragic cases as well as the heroism of individuals during the catastrophe of 9/11 and the Beth Din of America’s detective work and halakhic development which brought about resolution of these personal tragedies.
