Combating the Agunah Problem

A major achievement can be chalked up to the IYIM Get-Refusal Prevention Program:

An article co-authored by the  director, Dr. Rachel Levmore and Rabbi Professor Michael Broyde was finally published in the leading journal of Jewish Law in Israel – Techumin.

This journal publishes articles in a thick volume once a year, which are authored by the highest level halakhic scholars such as sitting Israeli rabbinical court judges and talmudists. The journal is read by academics, intellectuals, secular, religious and ultra-Orthodox – across the board of those dealing with Jewish law in all its fields. The article’s publication will ensure great influence on the development of acceptance of the halakhic solution proposed therein, preventing the classic agunah problem of husband disappearance or permanent vegetative state. This is truly a milestone.

, תחומין לז (תשע”ז), מכון צומת: אלון שבות, עמ’ 228-239.
